Moving On or Moving In?

I love life.

I think it's hard, ugly, and sometimes messy but within those things I know my heart is just so happy still because of Jesus.

I posted a picture on my Instagram story not too long ago of a flower that I picked, asking if anyone knew what its name was. You guys didn't know so I tried my flower search app and couldn't find it there either.

Yes I have an app, it's great.

As I was hanging out with my pastor's kids the next week I pointed out a Magnolia flower and explained how it was my home state's flower. Then I thought to look up Georgia's state flower.

And there it was, the flower that I had been seeking a name for turned out to be the state flower of Georgia, a Cherokee Rose.

My mind was blown by how right around the corner my discovery was. Just when I had moved on from the search, I unintentionally found what I was looking for.

You see, there are so many things that are right around the corner for us. The answer to our wondering, the friend we've been seeking, the hope to our feebleness... it's all so close, right around the corner.

There are times in our lives where we are forced or called to move on because we can't find what we were looking for or experience too much hurt and that can be scary. But we have the opportunity to move on from what we don't have or know yet and then move in to what God is doing in order for Him to reveal the good things.

When what I don't have seems more real and captivating than anything else, I need to move on and move in to His heart.

Sometimes we just move on in a giving-up kind of way, but God has more for us than this. He has discovery abounding in who He is.

God created us as beings that have a gaping hole that's meant to be filled with hope.

Hope deferred makes the heart sick.

How is your heart? Is it sick? Has it moved on to a place similar to a desert or a war zone? Maybe you moved on and forgot to move in to His arms.

There's a grace for us silly humans. As meaningful as we wish to be in moving on, we can't let ourselves forget about His promise that's guaranteed for those who move in and get personal with Jesus.

He is interested in us, abandoned of everything else.

The thing or situation that made your hope go astray can't continue when you hide yourself in His complete work.

He is good and stable and almighty.

I bet that what you were holding onto with your might, will be coming up soon when you move on from hurt and lack and move in to Him.
